Welcome , it's great that you are choosing a rescue chi !! Look for a rescue 
where the dogs are in foster homes .  The foster mama will know
the dog real well , will know if the dog
is good with cats , other dogs and children . Although since Chis are so tiny , 
most prefer them to be around older kids .  Maybe a larger chi or a chiweenie ?
