Welcome and good luck. Some times, the Shelter can tell you about
specific dogs, "he does well with children, no small children, does well with
other dogs, etc." Otherwise, it's the roll of the dice.

Hi, I just joined and am taking my own advice before welcoming a CHi into
my home.

I'd love to eventually welcome a Chi into my home. However I have too many
conditions that have to be met. So it is going to take me a while. I have
a toddler and i have cats. So the chi must be good with both. There are
alot of small dogs in my neighborhood, so I'd like the chi to be OK with other
dogs in that he/she isn't looking to attack them every time it lays eyes
on one. And I'd also like to adopt a slightly older dog and not a puppy, ie
2-4 yrs in age. WHile I am not against a puppy, I think with so many
needing homes, an older one has less of a chance in adoptions than a puppy.

So I am gong to read the emails and posts and hopefully find out about the
temperment, behavior and health of the Chi.

I'm on digest so it may take me a while to get all the email responses but
I'm here and accepting of any advice owners want to pass along.

J
