Maybe the format can be copied. If you know what it is, then many formats can 
be written under linux. I  occasionally write 800K disks (80 tracks, 2 sides, 
5x 1k sectors). I need a disk image, 'cos I haven't twigged the directory 
structure. If you go hunting in the chipdir archives under "Weird floppy" or 
even just "weird"  you may find the accumulated wisdom of this list on the 
subject.
