Thanks Griffith and Uwe for such valuable information,

My problem is a different one. Actually I was looking
for a web resource where I can find components from
different manufacturers, their technical and lifecycle
information, availability info but all of the
resources that I have found on the web right now are
charging for their services. There is a resource on
the web ttp://www.partagent.com who claim that they
provide parametric, lifecycle and history comparison
b/w alternate components for free. I have not been
able to check their website b/c I was having some
problem with my browser during the registration
process.

does any body else has tried www.partagent.com and has
validated their claims about free technical and
lifecycle info?

regards,

Irfan
