If you're thinking that way, why not go for a cool PPC machine far away from the mainstream? BPlan from Germany are currently designing a new motherboard with exchangable CPU modules. Check http://www.bplan-gmbh.de for details. It's amazing what a processor with about 8W electric power (==> no cooling required!) can do. AMD/Intel CPUs need a multiple of that for the same calculation power. If I was a web hoster, I'd kick out all Intel/AMD machines and save lots of $$s on the air condition with PPC servers.
