I try to use my logic analyzer, itsnot serial connection like.
It's very strange to me. The CD pin sometimes run like clock on slow frequencies.
Maybe you have experience about that.
I use Motorola SC-725 (like MicroTac), it's an old cell and run on AMPS system.

Most mobile phones have an RS-232 interface.
With the correct cable you can connect them
to a serial port (COM1..COM4) of a PC.
'Carrier detect' is the signal from a modem

consider that most mobile phones contain a
complete (fax-)modem.
