since those tiny SOT23 (5pin) OPAMPs are available, we prefer those parts (e.g. 
LM7301IM5) for new designs. board area is less, route lengths on PCBs become 
most often shorter and decoupling between stages is better.
HCMOS-logic also is available as such tiny SOT23-5 single gates: e.g. NC7SxxM5 
(00=NAND, etc); numbering scheme similar to 74HCxx-series. You can place them 
exactly where they are needed on the PCB.
