Sending attachments to mailing lists is usually not a good idea, because they tend to be very large and in this case would be send to about 500 people. (Most of whom would not be interested in them). It's better to put the 'attachment' somewhere on the WWW and include it's URL in your email to the mailing list. In an ideal world, the mailing list server would strip the attachment from the message and not replace the attachment with a text saying that attachments aren't allowed, but it would save the file on it's own WWW server and add a line to the email giving the URL of that stored attachment, but alas, we don't live in a perfect world... ;-) (Bruce, if you're reading this, I think I already suggested this years ago...)
