You can do it with 0.8 or 0.9V. The fet might well be the resistor at 
that. If you had a volt yopu'd be fine. Watch the behaviour at minimum 
temprature - it's always poorly specified. Want the data? I can e-mail 
it if you get lost on IR's site.
