are these diodes from old tv sets?
These things are hard to find nowadays and have almost fully been
replaced by smaller ones, which are fully embedded in the high-voltage
transformer assembly.

The old ones consist of a quartz or ceramic tube with a number of
small silicon diode chips in series and a metal cap at each end of the
tube. They were normally capable of blocking 10-50kV and had current
capabilities in the forward direction of a few mA at several volts of
forward voltage drop.
