Hey Friedel!
What are friends for? I have a datasheet for the ta8000s, and small quantities(!). It's a watchdog/supervisory chip and 5V regulator, usually using an external pnp transistor. I bought some through a broker a few years back.
As I had just a random idea about what it is for, it`s hooked to the 5V and the
regulator transistor base to, I couldn't determine if its part of the fault or no,
the 5V are good, about the reset I don't know, because I don't even know
where to measure, second I don't have the truck here.
The beast is part of the truck side communication interface. And the hastle starts
connecting to the truck, communication won't start, PC locks up, sort of thing,
there is communication, because led's of my RS232-break-in-box are flickering,
but it doesn't lock healthy to me.
Declan, could you be so nice and mail me over the datasheet ?
Have you lost the 5V? Is it reset or resetting? If the answer to both is no, it's probably ok. --
