I have some ds1267 digital potentiometers in the 14-pin DIP
package. As a computer user who is blind, documentation is easier to
get in a form I can read myself than it used to be but there are still
small problems.
I downloaded the chipdir data files and there is a ds1267s.txt
which is the 16-pin SOIC package. Unless the working pins are the
same as for the 14-pin package, this isn't going to help much.
I have the data sheet in PDF format and an extractor program
to turn the text in to ASCII.
This works well on linear text, but it falls apart on many graphs and
tables which brings me to why I am posting this question.
What is the pin-out for the 14-pin DIP package? If the
functional pins are the same, then I do have that SOIC pin-out. At
$5.something a piece, for those chips, I think I'd like to be sure the
VCC and ground are going to the correct pins.
It doesn't look like this chip will be particularly difficult
to connect and use with a PIC as the controller, but that PDF reader I
have made such a mess of the pin-out that I can't begin to trust it.
It appears that I need to set the VB voltage at -3 or -5 volts
referenced to ground to make the pots work properly with audio.
I must add here how much I appreciate the chipdir data files
for what they do contain. I have gotten much useful information
especially about logic chips that is no problem at all to read.
Thanks.
