I agree with Uwe, there is no SPAM coming from fatcity.
I use a special adress only for this list and I did not get any SPAM
for this adr. (check in the mail header the string "Received: from ... for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>", to see for which adress you
got the mail, the TO: line is often wrong).
M.
Until NTL did the dirty on me, I have had the list spam checked here also. Sure there is spam coming from fatcity.com, there is also spam from infected list members, or simply from people who trawl the archives for e-mail addresses. Fatcity adds nearly 10 lines to the header.
I had an example. My son in law wanted my e-mail. He consulted google, and got three e-mail addresses, 2 of which still work. His search term was simply "Declan Moriarty". Putting your own name into google might show you how available you are.
Some binaries get through fatcity's checks, but you can narrow the angle considerably on your own machine. This way I get 98% correct, which is good enough for me. Also, as most of my checks are body checks, the ones with no body squeak through. That allows me to bounce validation probes to the address.
