Subject: How to use CD-changer input as AUX input ?
Does anyone have a clue regarding communication
between a car radio and a CD-changer?
To be more specific I'll split this in two:
1. Hardware
Car radio has an 8 pin mini ISO connector: audio
stereo input (3 pins for L, R and GND), digital (3
pins probably TX, RX and digital GND), and the other
two pins for +12VDC (permanent) and +12VDC ( PWR ON).
2. Software
Communication protocol used is D2B or Domestic Data
Bus. I didn't find any information about this
protocol.
During PWR ON radio detects the presence of a
CD-changer and then include this device in audio
source list. You can then switch the sources: radio
FM, radio AM, tape and CD-changer.
The problem is to trick the radio with a device to
validate the CD-changer input and use this as any AUX
audio input.
I know it sounds like it doesn't worth the effort but
I always have a lot to learn from such hopeless tasks
in the past.
Do you know where I can find information about D2B
protocol ?
