Hi Declan and Tony,
thanks for the input. I have the schematics, layout and the circuit
board - so the pin-out and the functions are beyond doubt. These chips
have been serving for the last 20-30 years next to a couple of
FZH/FZK/FZJ 111/101 chips - old Siemens logic. A closer inspection
showed that someone once has replaced one of the chips with an old -
hopefully pincompatible - standard CMOS chip.
The circuit itself is packed onto 3 PCBs which are stacked on top of
each other with contacts going up and down in between - kind of a
piece of art. Therefore it should be difficult to apply any "live"
testing. Not to mention that it is normally rack-mounted in a DIN
enclosure with a bus on the backside.
However, my min suspect is now a DIL relay - but I have to wait until
tomorrow to test if it works now, after replacing the relay... The
second suspect of course would now be the CMOS chip.
Uwe.
