Last time I had this sort of thing I asked here. A lo o o o ng time ago!

I asked here and got no response. But I was starting into linux
then.I found linux's fdutils, made the author's life miserable until he
got interested, and then we cracked the disk format for an 800K disk on
a 720K floppy. I never got to cracking the driver for it. But it didn't
matter. I could reconfigure my drive to be an 800k drive (which was what
I wanted). Then I could take the entire thing into a filesystem my box
was familiar with, and write a copy the same way. I'm sure this is
enoughy, as you can pick off the files if your disk is not fragmented.

Afterwards when I came back happy and telling people how I had sorted
myself out, they all shot me down and said "Ah you needn't have bothered
doing that - why didn't you use program X, or Y, or Z?" :-/.

Most of the above things were on Simtel.net's Dos archive, which was
sadly axed when they needed some disk space. I can spoon feed you with
fdutils. The latest version is usually on

http://www.linux.lu

as is a supposedly general document about cracking weird floppy formats.
In fact it is a write up of my experience with my newbie linux user
mistakes and his correcting them and blowing my head off (You great
steaming [EMAIL PROTECTED]) edited out. I had that running 486 box running dos,
windows, and linux on a 250Meg hard disk with the kids games and fast
tracker 2 on it. It nearly stopped every time you had to reinstall the
sound drivers. How times change...
