I filter most mails with attachments that contain
Windows executables already on the server of my
provider, using procmail.

You can see a file that is Unix-linked to my
actual procmail file (so you always see the
actual version) here:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~ganswijk/procmailrc.txt

If anyone is interested in doing the same:
Your internet provider must host on a Unix/Linux
server and you must have full access to your
directories using FTP for example.

Make a file called .forward in your root
directory and let it contain only one line
with only '|procmail' on it. This will
redirect all incoming email to the procmail
program.

Then copy my procmailrc.txt file and rename
it to .procmailrc in your root directory.

Please note that all lines starting with '#'
are comment lines and some former data lines
have been commented out. When you want to
monitor the filter first, enable the LOGFILE
line again. This will log everything procmail
does.

You can also enable the DEST line again and
then commenting out the /dev/null lines
and commenting in the lines below each of that.
That will not delete the filtered out emails
but put them per filter category in a file.
You can also have sendmail put them each as
a separate file in their own directory, by
making sure that the redirection file already
exists and is a directory.

For more details please consult the sendmail
Unix manual or ask here.

Please note that I also filter out emails
with foreign (mainly Asian) character sets.

Greetings,
Jaap
