Since the Kenwood requires echolink mode to key radio w/o VOX it uses RTS
pin to key. I set Radio back to non-echolink and was able to read memories.
Does CHIRP enable RTS pin in serial port when it reads memories? Would seem
so.

Jim,

Is it a programming cable with a Prolific USB-to-Serial chip? If yes, have
you downloaded, installed and selected the older, but necessary, Prolific
v3.2.0.0 device driver? If you don't know, you can find out by using the
Device Manager application.
