I submitted a code change in rev 4792 to display the hung plugin
notification for
hung windowless plugin. It was a known case of this.
This is not going to take care of all of these issues, since from the dumps
I can see
that the "this application is unresponsive" window can appear even before
our hung
plugin notification is shown (because of the 30 secs delay).
I don't think there is much else we can do, except reducing our delay, and
we think
reducing it is going to cause more problems than benefits.
We should merge 4792 in the 1.0 branch.
The next step, after 1.0, would be to find the cause of the hang, but these
dumps
don't have any information about the status of the plugin process. It is
also
possible that the hang is not even in our code.
