Just a hunch ... this reminds me of a similar problem I observed in which there was a crash in the select folder dialog upon right-clicking the content area of the dialog OR clicking the New Folder button. It turned out to be an issue in the NVidia drivers/software (nvshell.dll). Are you by any chance using NVidia graphics hardware/drivers?
