New issue 5492 by [email protected]: SVG text renders badly -- wrong placement, poor spacing/kerning. http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=5492 Chrome Version : 1.0.154.36 URLs (if applicable) : http://www.thesokolows.com/colorresearch/pedigrees/AARON_OF_QUIETUDE.xhtml and any other file in same pedigrees directory. Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari 3: FAIL. Same as Chrome, bad. Firefox 3: OK. Good results, as expected. IE 7: FAIL. Doesn't render xhtml files, doesn't natively render SVG elements without a plug-in, such as Adobe's that is not supported any longer. What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Browse to: http://www.thesokolows.com/colorresearch/pedigrees/AARON_OF_QUIETUDE.xhtml What is the expected result? See same URL rendered by Firefox 3.0.4. What happens instead? Chrome (even latest update 1.0.154.36) renders the SVG like Firefox 2 used to do -- badly placed text, bad text spacing (pitch or kerning). Also, when the image is zoomed with scroll wheel and it grows beyond the browser window edges, there is a vertical scroll bar to move around, but no horizontal scroll bar, so image can't be completely examined at higher zooms. Firefox 3 does it right. Please provide any additional information below.
