Comment #4 on issue 5267 by [email protected]: Need some "you've been updated" indication http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=5267
Nick Brian and I chatted about this briefly. I still feel it's valuable, for a few reasons. 1, it lets people know we're still working on Chrome and it's getting better 2, maybe they had problems before (facebook, hotmail, whatever) so they decide to try it again to see if it did get better for them 3, Client software is not a webapp. We're running on someone's computer, we should at least let them know that we're now running something else 4, given problems we've had with 3rd party software, it could be useful to know that you just got updated in case you start having random problems with other software (e.g. your firewall suddenly starts blocking every single Chrome request, Chrome says you just got updated, maybe it's related?) I would rather not close out this bug. I think we can do something subtle, unobtrusive and non-annoying that would still achieve this objective. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
