Comment #2 on issue 7433 by [email protected]: Chrome UI text boxes
doesn't support 5 newly added Indian languages
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=7433
Hi, Jungshik:
I am sorry for making you confusing.
I am able to reproduce this issue on my English Vista SP2 and my
English XP SP2
(even with 'complex script' enabled).
My steps to reproduce this issue:
1. Delete 'User Data' folder
>>Under C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local
Settings\Application
Data\Chromium
2. Change system 'Standards and formats' locale to 'Gujarati'
>>Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Reginal Options |
3. Launch Chrome
>>The UI should be in Gujarati now
4. Type Gujarati into the Omnibox
Result:
Gujarati will be displayed as boxes
Notes:
If change Chrome UI language to Gujarati from 'Chromium language' drop
down list,
this issue will not reproduce, and is this related to issue 7149?
One more correction:
Bengali also has this problem, only Marathi and Tamil are OK.
As for Oriya, yes, Chrome major UI can show Oriya correctly on Vista.
Regards,
Xiaolu
