Comment #2 on issue 7559 by stolsvik: All pdf links yield "Could not launch
Acrobat" warning-dialog upon click.

OS: Windows XP, 5.1.2600 SP3

about.plugins:
   Adobe Acrobat
   File name: nppdf32.dll
Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape

I can't find a plugin for Foxit.

I can't seem to find a version number on that entry.

It is the same for Firefox - the plugin is there. However, in
Options->Applications,
it states "PDF Document": Action "Use Foxit Reader, Best Read..". I can
apparently
also choose "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)" from a dropdown there.

Foxit launches when I click a pdf file in Windows Explorer. Foxit also
launches when
I click a pdf file in Firefox. In C:/Program files/Adobe, there is a
Acrobat/Reader/ActiveX dir which is empty. I _had_ no idea how that
plugin-thing is
still there, I am certain that I de-installed Acrobat at some point, but I
just
checked Add/remove programs, and for some annoying reason I find Adobe
Reader 8.1.0
there. I now wonder whether it might at some point have been installed
along with
Photoshop CS or some other app?! When checking Start->All Programs, I do
actually
find Adobe Reader 8.. However, when clicking it, a windows installer dialog
thing
starts, and then whines about "Please wait while installer configures Adobe
Acrobat
8". This might be a clue?!

It has been like this from the get-go with Chrome - I installed it the day
you
launched it with the cartoon-stuff, and it didn't work with pdfs from the
start.
