Comment #3 on issue 7699 by [email protected]: make the list of 'most visited' (?) sites accessible in omnibox with "mouse only" http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=7699
pkasting is correct about the dropdown - some people like it, but it's a little mysterious and few people can describe what it actually does. The New Tab Page is designed to satisfy these mouse-driven navigation use-cases. Most-Visited navigation in the current tab is something we explicitly avoided in favor of tabs and having a single obvious way of doing things. If a user really wants it, he or she can enable the home button, which can open the New Tab Page in the current tab. I realize that many of our design decisions clash across cultures, but we're not yet attempting to satisfy every possible use-case, as that would lead to satisfies-no-one UI proliferation. The extension system (which at this point is a magical panacea) may be a good outlet for these regional frustrations - we could offer different default extension packs (UI customizations) for users in different countries. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
