The application version info (Bug part 1) is fixed by CLs 42542 and 45028.
kasperl reports another, related issue:
Unlike the Windows build of Chromium, the Linux build shows a
JavaScriptCore version number instead of a V8 one when I navigate to
about:version.
I'll look into this as well.
