Comment #2 on issue 9337 by mahaniok: After update, all search engines are
gone
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=9337
I have just experienced the lack of search engines again..
so I can say, what's happening. I am clearly having two separate instances
of Chrome
running at the same time on my machine. It is difficult to notice that
since all
windows are the same :). But Chrome's Task managers and about:memory pages
show
totally separate information.
And, consequently, one of the processes has one set of search engines,
another has
another set.
See the screenshot. On top, there is about:memory and task manager of one
process; on
the bottom, about:memory and task manager of the second process.
