Hi Jim when i said intermittent i meant that sometimes the issue doesn't happen at all (i can open chrome and run as many searches from the omnibox as i want) but once it happens once it will happen on every instance of chrome I open. Sometimes it is fixed by restarting the computer, sometimes not. I have a feeling that it might only be happening when I'm running on 3G mobile broadband rather than my usual WiFi but haven't had time to check yet.
