I also can't reproduce the original bug report.
Dan, I just confirmed that Windows has the same behavior, keeping the
suggestion and
popup across forward/backward. A bit weird, not sure if it's intentional.
Probably
makes sense for a bunch of reason (like if a page navigated itself with
javascript
while you're typing).
