New issue 17642 by juhpetersen: Fedora: IME only enabled by default with CJK locale? http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=17642 Chrome Version : 3.0.196.0 (Developer Build 21480) OS + version : Fedora 11 CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): 64bit window manager : metacity Behavior in Firefox 3.x (if applicable): uses desktop IME What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. start Fedora GNOME desktop with IME working (imsetting+ibus) 2. start new chromium with: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 chromium 3. try to activate IME What is the expected result? IME should work What happens instead? nothing (IME seems not available in this locale) Please provide any additional information below. "LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 chromium" works correctly. "GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus LANG=en_US.UTF-8 chromium" works too. Seems chromium is making some assumption about locale and gtk immodule, which may not always be correct. Many users use IME on non-Asian locale desktops too. I tried ubuntu-9.04 but it is ok (it doesn't use imsettings but GTK_IM_MODULE I guess). -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
