Comment #16 on issue 16898 by [email protected]: Chinese button in gmail is too small http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=16898
It's not clear exactly what bug we're talking about here. It would help immensely to get a reduced test case of the HTML that generates the bug. Looking at Jungshik's example, it doesn't look like buttons are involved at all, i.e., that this bug is about rendering of Chinese text in general, is that correct? Also, I'm not sure I follow how font-size settings are related here. I attached a screenshot of http://i18nl10n.com/chrome/zhfontsize.html. I tested Chrome tip of tree, Safari tip of tree, IE7 and FF3.5. I see two potential issues: 1. We pick the same fonts as IE, but these fonts are different from Firefox-Win and Safari-Win, both of which match each other. 2. IE uses a minimum font-size of 11 or 12 pixels for some fonts. Am I correct that these are the issues involved? Jungshik, do you know why we match IE fonts and Safari-Win does not?
