There seems to be no difference on the tabs with restart. However the rest
of the
window does require a restart for the hinting to take effect (this is
unrelated to
this issue).
These screenshots are taken after changing the font setting and restarting
chromium.
If you view the file in its natural size, you'll clearly see that there is
no
difference on the tab fonts
