Thanks for replying. I already knew my options (upgrading is regrettably not one of them right now), but I was just suggesting that your build-team should recompile in a less restrictive (older) environment, because other Linux users may face similar problems (I know Fedora 7 is pretty old, but for sure there are a bunch of users still out there, and this problem may also arise in other distros, say Debian 4.0, etc).
