I'm sorry, I read the bug too fast. I thought you were saying that no mousedown events worked. I cannot currently test this because I'm not at a computer that has a middle mouse button. Does it repro outside of a content script? If you create an HTML file with that script in it, do you catch middle clicks? If so, it is not an extension bug, just a rendering bug in general. Does it repro in Safari on Windows? If so, it is not a Chromium bug, but upstream at WebKit.
