Comment #13 on issue 841 by gmatht: Need '/' keyboard shortcut for initiating search http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=841
I'll note that on Linux, '/' is a standard way of searching for text. For example, this works in evince, the default Ubuntu PDF viewer. I would be nice if this worked in chrome as well, at least on the Linux version. I still instinctively press '/', even though I have used chrome for a month. Additionally, unlike other applications, Chrome puts the search bar in the top right rather than the bottom left. At is stands, Chrome is fighting both my muscle-memory and my eye-memory; I have to think "wait I am in chrome, so '/' doesn't work, Oh, and the search box wouldn't appear there anyway" each time I search for text. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
