Comment #5 on issue 23282 by jamesp: Can't import Fx bookmark keywords
with %s in non-query-params section
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=23282

glad at least you recognize the inability to import them is a bug.

its your service, so if you wanna hide some Keyworded URL Functionality
under a 'Manage' button in the 'Default Search'
section of 'Options,' thats your choice, but understand that it is hiding
it. keyworded url functionality has nothing to
do with setting your default search engine. period.

if the suggestion to mimic firefox doesnt appeal to you, then maybe this
will: both 'bookmarks' and 'default search'
sections arent really the best place for keywords, and thus i suggest you
break off from the firefox setup and create a new
area in chrome options for keywords altogether. since the bookmarks
section is probably where you will continue to store
these url settings i would argue its best to include any new keyword 'area'
in the bookmark management section, but if not
thats fine too. oh, and creating a new section might also have the effect
of highlighting its existence to people who do
look around at their options, and maybe increase its userbase, not that it
matters. [you still havent explained _why_ you
dont allow creating them in bookmarks -- especially when firefox does --
unless your explanation is that the low fraction
of users of something is a determinant to whether it is 'working as
intended.']

either way, as i said, thanks for helping me figure out where i can use
them, since this was the last major obstacle to
converting full time to chrome. now if only i didnt have to clear my cache
(practically) once daily to keep my youtube
music favorites list streaming in the background while i work (-;
