the content of my ~/.local/share/applications is:
mimeapps.list userapp-mplayer-4CRP0U.desktop
userapp-mplayer-DRTF0U.desktop
mimeinfo.cache userapp-mplayer-56ZV0U.desktop
userapp-mplayer-YYBE0U.desktop
you'll find the output of xdg-settings with the -x in attached file.
