Marc: It sounds like you are running into a different underlying bug, but with the same apparent behavior. So, to be clear, you've just extracted the zip file and are running it that way? (That is, you didn't install a package.) Are you running "chrome" or "chrome-wrapper" when you run Chromium? (It looks like the former.) If you run chrome-wrapper instead, does it work?
