Comment #6 on issue 8743 by [email protected]: Chrome "Clear browsing
data..." dialog is confusing and inefficient
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=8743
I'm on 4.0.223.5 and I still think that, in general, clearing browsing data
is
inefficient. However, it's not the dialog's fault. It's more that Chrome's
model for
privacy may be fundamentally at odds with how I do things.
It's that the mechanisms I normally use on Firefox ("Clear ... on
exit", "Remove
downloads from Download Statusbar after 5 seconds and from history on
exit", etc.)
don't exist on Chrome and I never use Incognito Mode. (I never think to
enable it
before using it and even if I could, I wouldn't trust it because it
disables the
crash recovery and tab unclose)
I've been putting up with it because Firefox is such a sluggish, bloated,
unstable
pain on non-Windows platforms but I still find it annoying to have to
manually wipe
my download history and various other things every time I close the browser.
