Comment #41 on issue 12189 by darthandroid: Retrieving the proxy settings
on windows can block IO thread for seconds.
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=12189

I have attached the output. The only non-windows modules that stood out are
playclaw
(A 3D recording application, similar to Fraps) and SetPoint (Logitech's
mouse/keyboard drivers). I have specifically tested playclaw by unloading
it and
restarting chrome when I first noticed its dll was being injected a few
weeks back
with no luck. I haven't specifically tested unloading setpoint since I
never noticed
it in the list of loaded modules before, but I have experienced the freezes
while
setpoint has not been loaded on my system (it tends to hang/crash from time
to time,
and I was too lazy to restart it for several days).

Everything else loaded by chrome are windows modules unless I missed
something - I
use windows firewall with no antivirus, download accelerators, proxy setting
switchers, etc.

I can specifically test unloading SetPoint later tonight when my world of
warcraft
raid is over, though I'd imagine something as prevalent as that would cause
wider-
spread problems if it was the source.
