I'm pretty sure this is a network related. I connected a router between myself and my ISP, and the problem is gone. Running dump_proxy.exe with auto-configuration enabled takes at most 30msec. It would seem that there is something misconfigured on my ISP's side (Time Warner Cable) which causes it to take ~6s to find out that there is no proxy auto-config, or at least something that causes windows 7 to misbehave; With this information, I'm not sure on the accuracy about this being restricted to windows 7 - It's the only OS I've used since moving back to a direct connection without a router. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
