Comment #9 on issue 27353 by [email protected]: Google gears crash with high CPU http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=27353
I have not found steps yet to reliably reproduce this error. Typically this happens after I've left my Google Apps email account open in Chrome 3.0.195.38 for anywhere from 8-13 hours, with offline mail enabled. After several hours, the CPU fan kicks into high gear, and eventually I see the same crash sequence: "The following plug-in is unresponsive: Unknown" followed by an info bar message indicating "The following plug-in has crashed: Google Gears 0.5.33.0." If I close Chrome before the crash, eventually the CPU fan slows down and I can work normally. I'm running Windows Vista Business with Service Pack 2 and all automatic Windows Update patches through at least 12/20/2009. I also have AVG Free 8.5.430 installed, which I mention only because I AVG recently reported Gears as a trojan for a day, then apparently thought better of it. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
