Comment #10 on issue 873 by dkarter: Security: passwords saved by computer shown http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=873
Dear Ian, This is a must fix issue. The lack of this simple feature, that would possibly take at most one day to develop (I'm a developer, I know), makes the user very vulnerable. A program can be used to extract all the passwords from the gridview control to a text file. This is a MustFix not a WontFix. Please reconsider and re-open the bug. ====== Before saying no, please have a look at how Firefox handles that; One cannot just open a Firefox browser where a master password is used and see all the passwords, the master must be entered for that action. Passwords are not automatically injected into a login page in firefox before the master has been entered. Therefore, Firefox provides stronger security than Chrome, because it allows the user to close the browser, preventing other people from retrieving personal passwords!!! You did not take that into consideration in your response. ======= This could lead to identity theft and even worse! What if I left my laptop on a table in Starbucks or something? what if I have a malicious person in the university who could sneak into my room and just copy all my passwords? Please re-open and assign it to one of the developers. Best Regards, D.
