Sigh. If his comment was insulting, so was yours. But frankly, they both came across to me as "slightly irritated" at worst. Anything that speaks svn out the back end will, of course work fine. git-cl is something that some folks at Google put together, so as long as Google is employing people to work on Chromium (which is true for the foreseeable future) and those people want to use git, it'll get updated and maintained (just like gclient, for example). This in no way implies that no one should use something else, it's just an observation that if you roll your own tools, it'll be up to you to support them.
