True enough. Please file that as a feature request at http://crbug.com/ . For historical reference, until this week the tar archive dated from October, so even having a daily copy shows progress. :) The next step, as you note, is to pull a "green" checkout rather than whatever happens to be in the tree at 2 AM. We do have a record of the last working revision number for each day; the latest is noted in http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/continuous/LATEST/REVISION .
