I disagree, and I also think that closing the tree would not net you as many people working on valgrind failures as you hope. Most people would continue working on their various different bugs, waiting for the tree to reopen. I know because we have had periods where the tree was closed for more than a full day before and people's behavior was not really affected. I told Ben this morning that I'm taking ownership of the flakiness problem, and I meant it. I will do my best to harass people. Next on my list is going to every single subteam meeting and making noise at all of them.
