This is my problem, I build chromium (yes, in release) and when I benchmark it in sunspider I consistently get worse performance than in chrome. With chrome I always get 700 ms and with my freshly built chromium I always get 1200 ms.
I'm building the exact same revision (the one corresponding to the last 3.x stable). I'm building in release and my system type is set to "_offficial" in the environment. I checked that I'm getting "/LTCG" as part of the linking options and all seems ok. My platform is VS2008 on Windows 7-64 with the 7.0 Windows SDK. Maybe it's related to _SECURE_SCL setting? I don't see it explicitly set to 0 anywhere in the release property sheets. Does Google use iterator checking? Otherwise, maybe it's because of my platform? maruel told me in irc that Google still uses VS2005 and the 6.1 SDk. Should I try downgrading? (If somebody knows, I'd like to know what OS Google uses as host to build the official releases, as reference).
