I think you misunderstood the topic.  It isn't about installing Chrome
itself, but the method by which Chrome adds shortcut icons to web
applications, then loads them into a window with even less chrome.

This particular functionality is derived from Gears... and I don't
quite believe it will be extended much further than this.  The theory
is, if there is a "help file" or "documentation", it would also be web
based and could simply be linked to from the application.  Since Gears
(and Chrome) are all about cloud computing, I believe the goal isn't
to put more attention on files on the operating system, but more
attention on the web applications themselves.
