Let me start with a little background. I'm a security admin so I have
quite a bit of security on my system. On my local system I always use
a user which doesn't have many rights, my user cannot install software
for example. If I need to install software I log in as root, check it,
install it, log out and then back in as my user. It's strict but it
works very well.

When installing crome however I came upon a problem with this. Crome
installs to the local users directory, There isn't really a way to
install it anywhere else... when I log in as a non-admin user they
cannot see or run crome. However, as a local user I can't install
crome.

There are a couple of work arounds I'ld like to try but haven't had
the chance yet:

Install crome then move it to a public directory so that all the users
can see it. This would be the best option however I'm willing to bet
I'm going to have to do some mucking with the kernel to let it know
the new location... as I've said I haven't tried it yet so I don't
know.

Up the rights to a user, install it, then lower the rights again. This
is fine however I'm going to have to do it for all 7 users on the
system which is do-able but is going to be a pain.

Is there a plan to change this yet?
