First off, to everyone who's trying to say that left to right order is
any sort of de-facto standard, have any of you ever paid attention to
the order in which your windows based alt-tab is arranged? That's
where the MRU order originated; and I quite like it that way. As far
as tabbed browsing goes, Opera was the first to implement that and
they, too, started with MRU and then offered the tab bar order as an
option.

Though none of us really have much experience with Chrome's plug-in
implementations to see how this being done in a plug in would work, I
would much prefer to have it integrated into the browser as an option
to switch between MRU and tab bar order. I just don't like having to
load plugins for things that are basic functionality related - seems
like a waste of memory and processor cycles to me. I can't count the
number of times I've wanted to control-tab back and forth between two
tabs (checking references, for instance) and I'm all screwed up trying
to remember to use shift to go back. MRU for the win!
